Leeds United mounted a stirring fightback to beat non-league Guiseley 4-3 after a horror start.

The Whites went 3-0 down in the pre-season friendly within the first half an hour, prompting about as much concern as there could be, in such circumstances.

Young striker Eoghan Stokes pulled a goal back before half-time, and head coach Garry Monk clearly had some telling words for his players at the interval.

He substituted goalkeeper Marco Silvestri off for Rob Turnbull at the break, who had contributed to the early deficit.

But it was Stokes' goal which gave Leeds a bit of hope heading into the second half, and supporters were delighted to see the young Irishman score.

He was prolific for the under-21 side late last season before picking up an injury, but during pre-season he has been staking a claim to become part of the first team squad for next season.

In the second half, Leeds looked a different side, and Jordan Botaka pulled another goal back after a disappointing game from himself up until that point.

Then with 15 minutes to go Kalvin Phillips scored a well taken equaliser, highlighting that he is hoping to stake a claim for a first team spot, with Lewis Cook gone.
