Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer has heaped praise on the club’s recent signings and tipped them for success, in an interview on tottenhamhotspur.com.

Spurs have added midfield enforcer Victor Wanyama and highly-rated poacher Vincent Janssen so far this summer and the Austrian is excited about what they will add to the squad.

“They’ve settled in very well,” said Wimmer. “I knew about them before. Victor has shown in the Premier League already that he’s a very good player, a very strong midfielder and Vincent also – we played against him with the Austrian national team in June and in that game I saw him for the first time.

“He did very well then, he scored and I’m very happy that we have these two great players now. I think they will help us a lot.”

The new arrivals have plugged the key gaps that previously hung over Mauricio Pochettino’s squad and Spurs fans will be excited to see how their team fares with a greater ability to rotate.

The Lilywhites suffered a late collapse last season, culminating in finishing below bitter rivals Arsenal on the final day, and that was due in no small part to an over-reliance on a small group of players.

Wanyama and Janssen will allow Pochettino to rest Eric Dier and Harry Kane more freely and will provide much more variety in terms of formation and personnel options.

Spurs look set to add another recruit to the squad imminently, with promising winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou all but confirmed as a Tottenham player, according to the Guardian.

Fans will get the chance to see the new signings in action for the first time next week when Spurs take on Juventus and Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup.
