Middlesbrough have already greatly improved their squad over the summer, and Lille’s Ibrahim Amadou could be their next acquisition.
Lille’s Ibrahim Amadou
French news outlet L’Equipe are reporting that Middlesbrough are interested in bringing Lille’s 23-year-old French defensive midfielder Ibrahim Amadou to the Riverside.
The summer transfer window has already been an extremely busy one on Teesside, with Victor Valdes, Alvaro Negredo and Marten de Roon amongst some of the exciting new additions.
Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka
L’Equipe report that Boro boss Aitor Karanka wants to strengthen his side even further with the capture of Amadou, but claim that Lille will only be tempted into selling by what they call a substantial offer.
Amadou would bring a great amount of versatility to Middlesbtrough, should a move come to fruition, and is equally comfortable at playing both centre-back and defensive midfield roles.
It must be exciting times to be a Boro fan, as they continue to strengthen their squad with quality additions, in what is a sign from the owners that they not only want to maintain their Premier League status, but have in fact set their standards even higher.
Middlesbrough are said to be interested in Amadou
Amadou made 22 league appearances for Lille last term, helping guide his team to a fifth place finish in Ligue 1.
