Tottenham Hotspur's Federico Fazio
ESPN are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur have told four senior players to look for new clubs, with one of those being Argentinian defender Federico Fazio.
The 29-year-old has failed to establish himself at White Hart Lane since his move from Sevilla in the summer of 2014, and spent the second half of last season on loan at his previous club.
His reported availability, however, will represent a good opportunity for another Premier League club to gain an experienced, top quality defender.
Fazio has reportedly been told that he can leave Spurs
Everton should consider a move for Fazio with the future of John Stones growing increasingly uncertain, as a move to Manchester City draws ever closer (The Mirror).
Fazio has made three international appearances for his country, and is an old-school, typically Argentinian defender. He has excellent man-marking skills, and is good in the air. He is also a wonderful reader of the game, which means that he isn't overly reliant on pace, as most modern defenders seem to be.
Federico Fazio would be a fantastic addition to the Everton squad
He would be a superb addition to the Merseyside outfit, and with Phil Jagielka approaching the twilight years of his career, now would be a good time for Ronald Koeman to strengthen in that area of the pitch.
Fazio still has two-years remaining on his current contract at Spurs, but with the club seemingly so keen to let him go, the price to secure his signature would surely not be too unreasonable.
