Juventus' Simone Zaza is reportedly a target for West Ham
West Ham United will turn their attention to Juventus striker Simone Zaza, if they fail to land primary target Carlos Bacca, according to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio. The Hammers' exhausting search for a new striker rumbles on, and they may have to eventually settle for a level down from the premium grade forward they wanted.
Which leads on to David Gold's comments regarding said striker search. He told the club's official website that everyone needs to remain patient:

“Unfortunately, I cannot give any more updates on our pursuit for a new striker. At the moment we are having to be patient, but other clubs are in the same situation and there is still time for us to get the signings we want to add into the squad.”
There are reports emanating from the Spanish press, however, that the East London outfit have re-ignited their interest in Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie, with Sport claiming the club are in negotiations to sign the striker.
Meanwhile, German Publication SportsBild (via The Express) claim that West Ham are interested in securing the services of Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter, and have made a lucrative offer, joining the likes of Arsenal and Wolfsburg in the race for his signature.

In other news, Hammers captain Mark Noble has lauded this summer's new arrivals, but says he wants more to follow when speaking to the club's official website:
“We’ve got a good squad, a really exciting squad and hopefully another couple of players coming in. We’ve made three really good new signings in Havard, Gokhan and Sofiane to bolster the squad and with cup games, European games it’s going to be tough this year."
And finally, West Ham continued their pre-season preparations today with a 3-0 victory over German side Karlsruhe in Austria with goals from Andy Carroll, Sofiane Feghouli and Ashley Fletcher.
