The Newcastle United midfielder is reportedly being pursued by a number of the best sides in Europe.
Moussa Sissoko celebrates scoring for Newcastle United
The summer uncertainty surrounding Newcastle star Moussa Sissoko is rumbling on, and in fact, may just be getting started if a report in the Chronicle is anything to go by.
The France international's impressive form at the European Championships has only increased the reported demand for his services, while Magpies boss Rafa Benitez has made it clear that he is still eager to retain the player.
Sissoko himself seems to be angling for a move away from St James's Park though, as he seeks top flight football, and with several Premier League clubs said to be tracking him, the news that Real Madrid are eager to bring him to Spain may blow competitors out of the water.

The Chronicle are reporting that with Los Blancos reluctant to pay the figure Newcastle are asking for the 26-year-old, the Spanish giants are instead putting together the prospect of a deal including players either on loan or joining the Tyneside outfit permanently.
This is an interesting enough prospect in itself, but with Benitez in charge at the Magpies, Newcastle have someone at the club who will know exactly which players at the Bernabeu are worth asking for.
Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez
The former Liverpool manager was in charge at Real at the beginning of last season, and retains close ties to the club. Real players on the fringes of the first team or in the reserves are likely to jump at the chance of switching to a club like Newcastle, one of the favourites for promotion back to the Premier League, to work under the Spaniard.
And with Newcastle holding the chips when it comes to negotiations, Rafa could urge them to push for players of real promise.
