Liverpool could send players on loan to Newcastle United this summer.

According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United could negotiate loan deals for Liverpool players in this transfer window.

The two clubs have been in negotiations this week as Liverpool saw a £25 million bid for Georginio Wijnaldum accepted.

Liverpool’s overall package for the Dutchman is a cash-only deal and will not involve any Reds stars heading in the opposite direction despite reports suggesting that may be an option.

However, according to the Chronicle, that does not mean that Liverpool will never send players on loan to St James Park in future.

They report that manager Rafa Benitez has an excellent rapport with Jurgen Klopp and that could see future loan deals discussed between the two clubs.

The Spaniard has already added six new faces to his squad this summer and reportedly wants another two signings.

His main priorities are a striker and a winger, but he is not ruling out a move for further defensive cover.

One Liverpool player they were linked to was Lucas Leiva and it would not be surprising to see him make the move to the North East.

He was a favourite of Benitez’s during his time at Anfield but is down the pecking order under Klopp, so a switch would make sense for all parties.
