Newcastle United drew 2-2 with Doncaster Rovers in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
Jesus Gamez impressed with his performance for Newcastle United in their friendly against Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday evening.
Newcastle drew 2-2 with the League Two side at the Keepmoat Stadium, after coming from behind to level the scores.
Doncaster went into a 2-0 lead, but Newcastle fought back in the second half.
The Magpies scored through Isaac Hayden and Ayoze Perez to ensure that they maintained their unbeaten record in pre-season.
It was Gamez’s performance which attracted the most attention on social media site Twitter.
The 31-year-old came on at half-time, and his showing proved his quality.
Gamez has only just arrived at Newcastle from Atletico Madrid, but he appears to have slotted in well with his new teammates.
And Newcastle fans were delighted with his display against Doncaster, with praise flooding in for the full-back on Twitter.
