Leeds United have two friendlies coming up in the next two days.
Leeds take on Guiseley later this evening, before they face Peterborough United tomorrow.
There have been suggestions that Leeds could take a second string squad against Guiseley, with Monk’s stronger team travelling to Peterborough.
However, the former Swansea City boss insists that he will select mixed teams for both fixtures.
“I think I’ve used this period to understand who can play what roles,” Monk said. “That’s still the case. Maybe looking at partnerships and combinations. I need to know that as a manager.
“This two games will be two mixed teams, with ideas behind it. The most important part is that they get 90 minutes.”
Leeds have played two friendly fixtures over pre-season so far, and they have won them both.
The Whites beat Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers during their tour of Ireland.
Leeds are building up to the Championship campaign, which is set to begin at the start of next month.
Monk’s side’s first competitive fixture comes against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
