A selection of the latest stories involving Everton...

Not only have Everton nabbed Steve Walsh off Leicester City, they appear to have acquired his list of Foxes transfer targets.

According to the Telegraph, the Toffees director of football has identified Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson, linked with the Premier League champions earlier this summer, as a target for his new club.

The report adds that Ronald Koeman is ready to heed Walsh's advice and make a £25 million bid for the Iceland star - who once snubbed Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool.

Sticking with Leicester, the Guardian reports that Everton have agreed not to sign players from Walsh's former club, which means Kasper Schmeichel won't be moving to Merseyside after all.

The Danish goalkeeper was one of several in his position being tipped to replace Tim Howard at Goodison Park.

However, according to the Express, two other English-based shot-stoppers, Tim Krul and Asmir Begovic, remain in contention to fill the role.

Newcastle's Tim Krul

Krul, who's currently sidelined with a knee injury, is likely to find himself down the Newcastle pecking order upon his return, while Chelsea's Begovic will struggle to oust Thibaut Courtois as the Blues' number 1.

Another area Everton are keen to fill is the centre of midfield, with Axel Witsel, Moussa Sissoko and Kevin Strootman are thought to the Toffees' three main targets.

However, if the Liverpool Echo is to be believed, that could soon be down to two with the Merseyside club said to be growing frustrated by Witsel's wage demands.

The report adds they could be about to walk away from the deal, which has been under discussion since mid-June apparently.

Sissoko won't come easy, though, it seems, with SkyBet listing Everton as third favourites for the Newcastle star's signature - behind Juventus and Real Madrid!

And finally, it's not transfer related but bloody brilliant all the same...

Not only does Steve Walsh hail from the north west and have a former Toffees player for a brother (Mickey Walsh, in case you were wondering) the club's official website has revealed another sizeable draw for the renowned talent-spotter: He used to teach Goodison coach David Unsworth at school!

We're sure he was a model student...
