In an interview with MUTVManchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe has spoken of his desire to 'stick with the first team' after receiving the backing of new manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho said earlier this week that it would take him only '10 minutes' to identify Tuanzebe's potential, having promptly promoted him to the first team to feature in the Portuguese manager's first match in charge of the Red Devils against Wigan.

Tuanzebe was brought on as a second half substitute for new signing Eric Bailly, and he was given ten minutes to impress.

And he certainly took them, judging from Mourinho's comments after his side's 2-0 win against the Latics, quoted here by the Mirror.

"You can play 90 minutes or 1 minute. Sometimes 1 minute is enough.

"With Axel, ten minutes is enough! The potential is there, you see it immediately.

"You know him better than me because you know him for a few years but if anyone sees him for the first time, ten minutes is enough to see the potential."

To have the backing of the world famous football manager has certainly been a boost for the youngster, as he explained to MUTV.

"To have your manager backing you so strongly is a positive sign and my aim now is just to keep impressing and striving towards my goals.

"This is my opportunity now. Last year, I missed a couple of months due to injury but now I can start afresh, give it a good go and try to stick with the first team."

Tuanzebe was included in Jose Mourinho's 25 man squad picked to travel to China for two high profile pre-season fixtures against Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund.
