According to reports from Foot Mercato, the Premier League duo of Southampton and Crystal Palace are currently battling it out to sign Porto forward Moussa Marega.

Southampton and Crystal Palace are both currently eyeing up attacking reinforcements this summer and naturally, the Premier League duo have been linked with a host of names this summer.

Southampton have been touted to make moves for the likes of Jordan Ayew and Saido Berahino while Crystal Palace are said to be keeping close tabs on Christian Benteke and Simone Zaza among others.

Now in fresh rumors emerging out of France, revelations can be made that Southampton and Crystal Palace are both chasing Porto attacker Moussa Marega as well.

Marega enjoyed a wonderful time during the first half of last season while on loan at Maritimo, scoring 12 goals but upon his return back to Porto in January, the 25-year-old failed to find the back of the net on even one occasion.

Due to his poor form, Marega was omitted from the Porto squad for the final four matches of the season and it looks like the Mali international will be allowed to leave the Estádio do Dragão this summer.

Despite his struggles at Porto, a number of clubs are interested in signing Marega and Foot Mercato claim that Southampton and Crystal Palace are monitoring the attacker at the moment.
