Premier League outfit West Ham United have placed an ambitious £10 million bid for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Matthias Ginter, as reported by Sport Bild (via the Essex Chronicle).

West Ham United’s summer has been dominated by their pursuit of a high profile striker and despite being linked with the likes of Carlos Bacca, Alexandre Lacazette and Christian Benteke among others, the Hammers have not yet been able to bring in anyone to bolster their attack as of yet.

Manager Slaven Bilic is not only looking towards improving his attacking department though and recently, claims were being made that the Croatian tactician is looking towards adding another midfielder to the squad.

Now according to reports emerging from Sport Bild, West Ham are planning a swoop for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Matthias Ginter.

Ginter has long been regarded as one of the most promising midfield players in the German Bundesliga and the 22-year-old enjoyed a fine campaign with Dortmund last term, scoring 4 goals as well as providing 10 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

Ginter’s exploits seem to have caught the attention of Bilic and claims have been made that West Ham have launched an ambitious £10 million bid in an attempt to sign the German international this summer.
