According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are willing to allow John Flanagan to join Burnley on loan this summer.

The full back is currently building up his fitness in pre-season having returned from a 18 month spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Jurgen Klopp is a big fan and handed him a new three-year deal back in March to signal that the player is a big part of his plans for the future.

However, with Nathaniel Clyne the first choice right back at the club and no European football to contend with, playing time may be hard to come by next season.

As a result, Klopp has given the 23-year-old the option to make a loan move to Burnley, who have been credited with an interest in taking him this summer.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp believes Flanagan would benefit from a year away from Anfield playing regular football rather than spending a season on the bench.

It is now up to Flanagan to decide whether to take up the offer or stay, having been left out of the squad for the clash Huddersfield Town to weigh up his options.
