The 22-year old got off the mark in a behind-closed doors friendly this afternoon.

Vincent Janssen grabbed his first goal for Tottenham in a friendly win over Rotherham United earlier today, as reported by the club’s official Twitter account.

The summer signing was featuring for the second time, after making his debut in last week’s behind-closed-doors defeat to Fulham, but on this occasion he managed to find the net.

Spurs ran out 3-1 winners against the Championship side and will now head to Australia for glamour ties with Juventus and Atletico Madrid next week.

The Dutchman will be delighted to get off the mark for his new club and with Harry Kane returning to training late due to his international exploits over the summer, it’s a chance for Janssen to lay down a marker.

Spurs face Juventus next Tuesday in Melbourne in what will be the first televised friendly of their pre-season schedule, giving fans a chance to see Janssen and fellow newcomer Victor Wanyama in action.

The Lilywhites will also hope to complete the transfer of Georges-Kevin N’Koudou in time for the trip Down Under, with the Guardian reporting that the deal will be finalised soon.
