Celtic made it through in the Champions League by beating Lincoln Red Imps 3-0.
Celtic’s first-team squad were delighted to avoid humiliation by making it through in Champions League qualification against Lincoln Red Imps yesterday evening.
The Bhoys went into the second-leg of their tie having to overturn a 1-0 deficit, but they made light work of the task.
Celtic ran out 3-0 winners over the part-time side from Gibraltar, and managed to avoid an embarrassing defeat.
Brendan Rodgers’ side scored all their goals in the first half - with Mikael Lustig, Leigh Griffiths and Patrick Roberts all hitting the back of the net.
The win pleased Celtic’s players, who were quick to take to social media site Twitter to celebrate their success after the match.
Important win tonight in a wonderful atmosphere. Team work paid off. Road to the next round @celticfc— Moussa Dembélé (@MDembele_10) July 20, 2016
John Hartson was also satisfied that his former side had been able to progress.
Hartson was highly critical of Celtic after their first-leg defeat, but was much more content with the result yesterday evening.
Job done.. Onto the 3rd round Qualifiers. Wasn't quite 5 as I predicted but we're through.. That's what matters— John Hartson (@JohnHartson10) July 20, 2016
Celtic will now face FC Astana in the next round of qualifying.
