Aston Villa defender Joe Bennett has told the club’s official website that the club’s new signings have looked strong in pre-season.
New manager Roberto di Matteo has made three additions to his squad so far this summer, with more likely to arrive.
Defender Tommy Elphick was the first to join and was soon followed by Pierluigi Gollini and Aaron Tshibola in making the move to Villa Park.

All three players have featured in all of the club’s pre-season fixtures on home soil so far.
And Bennett has been impressed by what he has seen, saying their strong starts bode well for the season ahead.
“They’ve all done really well and look really strong,” he told avfc.co.uk.
“Importantly they’ve all gelled with the group too. They played really well last night – and they have started pre-season strongly, which bodes well for then the new season starts.”

It now remains to be seen whether those three signings are the only new arrivals at Villa Park this summer.
The current squad was heavily criticised last season as they crashed out of the Premier League following a season of disastrous performances.
It was felt that a major overhaul was needed as a result and with three new faces already, it will be interesting to see if Roberto di Matteo believes more are needed.
