Liverpool's Dejan Lovren celebrates with the Shankly Trophy at the end of the Huddersfield match
Liverpool made it four from four on their pre-season campaign so far with a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smiths Stadium, which saw them take home the Bill Shankly trophy.
Marko Grujic's first half strike opened the scoring after Sadio Mane had an effort disallowed for fouling the goalkeeper - though it looked pretty harsh.
Soon after Mane was brought down after rounding goalkeeper Joel Coleman, giving Philippe Coutinho the opportunity to double Liverpool's lead from the spot, a chance he spurned as he saw his effort saved by Coleman.
Having made a series of changes at half time, following a hamstring injury to Lucas Leiva, Jurgen Klopp decided to bring on young goalkeeper Shamal George to play up front for the final half hour as the Reds kept it 11 v 11 for the remainder of the contest.
Liverpool would ultimately double their lead from the penalty spot, Alberto Moreno made no mistake from that spot-kick as the Reds made it four wins from four games in pre-season so far.
Ahead of the game there was a minutes applause for MP Jo Cox, a Huddersfield Town fan, who was murdered last month.
Here are some images from last night's encounter:
