West Ham have been very public in their pursuit of a new striker this summer and a host of high profile names have been linked with a move to the Hammers over the past few weeks.
Conversely, the Premier League side seem to be looking to get rid of a couple of strikers currently in their ranks and Valencia has been widely tipped to make an exit from the Olympic Stadium.
According to various reports, Lazio (Gazetta Dello Sport) and Swansea (Football Italia) are interested in signing Valencia this summer and it seemed like the Ecuadorian international leaving West Ham was all but certain.
A fee of around £11 million had been touted as the asking price for Valencia but now according to reports from Tutto Sport, West Ham are believed to be demanding in excess of £15 million for the striker.
The transfer market is certainly inflated at the moment but West Ham setting such a high price could potentially deter interested parties to continue with their pursuit.
