West Ham United have been linked with yet another potential striker.
The Hammers remain in the market for a new striker having been frustrated in their endeavours to date, but according to ESPN sources the London club are now turning their attention to Enner Valencia’s strike partner at international level.
Ayovi currently plays for Argentine club Godoy Cruz, where he has scored 20 goals in 48 matches to date.
At 28 he is something of a journeyman having racked up seven clubs in his career, but he certainly knows where the goal is and he could be a canny addition to West Ham’s squad if manager Slaven Bilic can get him for the right price.
Ayovi has a contract until December 2018 so it would take a relatively big bid to tempt his current club into business, especially as he has already scored six goals in 16 matches for them this season.
But with West Ham desperate for new strikers this could be one that creeps through under the radar.
That said, Ayovi would not be the star name many of the club’s fans desired and they would still be hoping for more business in the weeks ahead.
