Villa fans won't be sorry to see him go it seems.
Guzan is said to be on his way out of Villa Park
Villa boss Roberto di Matteo told the Birmingham Mail last week he was looking to shed a goalkeeper from his ranks following the capture of Pierluigi Gollini from Hallas Verona.
Gollini is likely to take Guzan's place
And Guzan, whose exit has already been championed by Villa fans on Twitter, is set to become his unfortunate victim.
Newly-promoted Boro have already signed former Barcelona and Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes this summer, but are said to want the American as back up the three-time Champions League winner.
Valdes signed for Boro upon his Manchester United release
Guzan, who arrived at Villa Park from Chivas USA eight years ago, had been first choice under the Villans' last three bosses, but came under fire for his performances last season.
And with a wage bill in need of trimming, Di Matteo is seemingly happy to see the 31-year-old depart a year ahead of schedule.
Guzan's rumoured arrival will come as yet another blow to Dimi Konstantopoulos, who kept the highest number of clean sheets in each of the last two Championship campaigns.
