Liverpool Juergen Klopp celebrates with Jordan Henderson after the game

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson seems determined to have a season free from injury if his latest Instagram post is anything to go by.

Last season he was in and out of the side because of a heel problem, before suffering a knee ligament injury during a Europa League tie against Borussia Dortmund in October which sidelined him for all but one substitute appearance for the remainder of the season.

As a result he made just the 26 appearances in all competitions last term, scoring two goals. Now he is hoping that is all behind him ahead of Jurgen Klopp's first full season in charge.

The video shows Henderson working his way back to fitness during his time on the sidelines. It could be something of a new theme for Liverpool players as Danny Ings made a similar video when he was closing in on his return to fitness towards the back end of last season.

England's Jordan Henderson shoots at goal

Henderson was part of England's Euro 2016 squad in France but only played one game against Slovakia, which ended in a 0-0 draw. Although he looked useful for the best part of an hour in that game, it was clear that he was under-cooked and lacked match practice.

There is a lot of pressure on Henderson to perform this season, as he would have liked to play more in his first full season as the club's captain, and he needs to win over some fans who question his ability.
