The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from Aston Villa.
Jordan Veretout wants to leave Aston Villa to join Marseille but the Frenchman's advisors are not keen on him joining the French club, according to L'Equipe.
The 23-year-old, who joined Aston Villa for £8 million last summer, has been heavily linked with a move away from the West Midlands club following their relegation to the Championship in a disastrous season last term.
The French midfielder was reportedly keen on a move to Marseille, according to L'Equipe, but the same newspaper has suggested that Veretout's people have advised against a move to the Stade Velodrome this summer.
The report does not outline why, but Veretout is earning £28,000 per week with the Villans (Daily Star) and the cash-strapped Ligue 1 outfit may not be able to meet that salary.
Veretout, like so many Aston Villa players, did very little to stand out from the crowd during a debut season in which his team won just three Premier League games last term.
As a result, fans are unlikely to shed many tears if he leaves - and if they do it may be linked to the fact he cost their team £8 million in the transfer fee alone.
