A report suggests a new development relating to a reported Leeds United target.

Elland Road

Leeds United are willing to outbid Club Brugge for NEC winger Anthony Limbombe, according to NEC, according to Voetbal Primeur.

The long-time Leeds target has not reported for training with the Dutch club since Friday as it seems likely that he will leave this summer.

The 22-year-old has been on Leeds' radar for nearly a year and it seems like the Whites remain in contention for his signature.

Voetbal Primeur reports that the Belgian winger is also wanted by Toulouse, but the Dutch outlet claims that Limbombe is not keen on a switch to the French outfit, who have agreed a fee with NEC.

It goes on to suggest that Club Brugge would be his preference but the Championship club have offered a bigger bid than their Belgian counterparts, who will not go above £1.7m it seems.

Leeds United Chairman Massimo Cellino

NEC will surely prefer him to join Leeds if they are offering more money but, with the Dutch club involved in a dispute with the man himself, they are unlikely to convince him.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claimed on Monday that United owner Massimo Cellino was still interested in bringing the player - who was first linked to Leeds a year ago - to Elland Road.
