Jason Denayer in action for Galatasaray
The Gunners have snapped up midfielder Granit Xhaka and striker Takuma Asano this summer, but manager Arsene Wenger may now be looking to add a defensive option to his squad.
Laurent Koscielny was a mainstay in the side last season, and whilst Wenger does have Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista at his disposal, a fourth centre back appears to be the priority for Wenger.
The Sun report that Arsenal are keen on Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter, who can play at right back, centre back or in defensive midfield, but they also have their eyes on a Premier League defender.
It's claimed that the Gunners are eyeing up a move for Manchester City's Jason Denayer, who has yet to make his first-team debut for the club.
The Belgian centre back, 21, spent last season on loan with Turkish giants Galatasaray, making 28 appearances in all competitions before heading back to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
New City boss Pep Guardiola often gives chance s to young players, but Denayer sits behind Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala in the pecking order, and with City expected to sign another defender, Denayer could yet be fifth choice at the Etihad Stadium.
The former Celtic loanee now appears to be a top target for Arsenal, with Wenger wanting to land a versatile young defender - and the Belgian, who represented his country at this summer's European Championships, could cost up to £12m according to the report.
The report adds that Arsenal actually made a £5m move for Denayer last summer but failed to tempt City into a sale, and could now make a renewed attempt to land the athletic defender this summer.
