Real are close to signing Andre Gomes
Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes is close to joining Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid, according to Marca.
The Portuguese international is widely seen to be the heir-apparent to Luka Modric, who, at the age of 31, is not getting any younger.
Marca report that whilst a deal is not quite yet completed, it is not far off, with Real Madrid coming close to Los Che's evaluation of their midfielder, thought to be around the €65 million (£54.5 million) mark.

Los Blancos are aiming to reach an agreement which would see €50 million paid up front, with €5-10 million added on through bonus clauses.
Real Madrid have seen off competition originally posed by Manchester United and Chelsea, with Jose Mourinho originally thought to be keen to land his compatriot, as outlined by Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, whilst Chelsea were also linked, according to Sky Sports.
But now it appears that the European Champions are in the driving seat, and a deal is imminent.
The signing of Andre Gomes could well and truly end Real's interest in Pogba
Should the move go ahead as expected, it may have big implications for Manchester United in their pursuit of Juventus star Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid have long courted the Frenchman, with Zinedine Zidane as recently as two days ago was quoted praising the midfielder by Sky Sports.
"Do I like Pogba? Of course,
"He's a very good player and every club wants the best players."
Nevertheless, despite reports suggesting Real Madrid were encouraging Pogba to hold fire over a move while the club weigh up their own bid, as detailed by the Daily Mail yesterday, the signing of Andre Gomes could spell the end to their interest.
Back to Manchester United? It's becoming more and more plausible
With a midfield arsenal that already includes Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco, Mateo Kovacic, Casemiro and James Rodriguez, the signing of two new midfielders would completely bloat their squad.
And, whilst departures are possible, it seems unlikely this close to the season that Real would undergo such a large squad overhaul.
All this is good news for Manchester United, who may now be able to finally secure the re-signing of their former prodigy, a man they are willing to pay many millions for.
