Manchester City youngster Tyrese Campbell has emerged as a target for PSV Eindhoven, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Campbell is free to find a new club after turning down City's offer of a scholarship deal at the Etihad Stadium with the player fearing there is no room for progression at the club.

Campbell, who is an England under-17 international, is a prolific goal-scorer at youth level and has scored 97 goals in the last two seasons.

A number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and West Ham United have shown an interest in Campbell, but now Dutch champions PSV are ready to try to lure the England youth international to Holland.

City are reluctant to lose Campbell, but if the striker was to move abroad under FIFA regulations it would mean City would only be entitled to minimal compensation for the player rather than possibly going to tribunal with an English club.

PSV Eindhoven's Jeroen Zoet

City are loathe to see one of their brightest young prospects to a Premier League rival and they could consider offering Campbell in a deal for PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet.

Zoet is reportedly a target for new City boss Pep Guardiola with the Daily Mail claiming the PSV Eindhoven No.1 could be brought in to rival Joe Hart at the Etihad Stadium.

If City follow up their interest in Zoet they could use PSV's interest in Campbell to try to strike a deal for the Holland international.
