The young striker has rejoined his old Leicester City mate Waghorn at Ibrox.
New Rangers signing Joe Dodoo has admitted to the Gers official website that he is thrilled to be linking up once more with former Leicester City teammate Martyn Waghorn in Glasgow after joining the Ibrox club.
Dodoo became the Gers' ninth signing of the summer when he penned a four-year deal with the Glasgow side on Tuesday afternoon.
The 21-year-old leaves Leicester having made just four first-team appearances for the East Midlands club, but he still managed to score four times for the Foxes last season, with all of his goals coming in the space of two Capital One Cup clashes.
At Ibrox, Dodoo will reunite with a familiar face in the form of ex-City teammate Waghorn, with whom he was on the books at the King Power Stadium for five years before Waghorn left for Wigan Athletic in 2014.
Though Dodoo was a teenage academy star whilst Waghorn was starring for the first team, the new signing revealed he has a good relationship with the 26-year-old and is excited about the prospect of rekindling that partnership.
Dodoo told the Gers' official website: "I played with Martyn Waghorn at Leicester, I was only 17 then and he was older but I have known him for a while.
"It’s great to come and him be here because he knows me and it makes it easier to fit in with the lads. They have made it so easy for me to fit in and welcomed me from the first day so that made my decision even easier.
"Martyn and I scored a lot of goals together, we combined well and I know how he plays and that is still going to be there."
Dodoo will add to a Rangers strikeforce which already boasts Waghorn, veteran goalscorer Kenny Miller, and teenager Ryan Hardie as Mark Warburton's side gear up for their return to the Scottish Premiership.
