Martina signed for Southampton last season for £1 million.
Martina was signed at the midway point of last season for £1 million from FC Twente when the side needed to boost their defensive options, but it looks as if his stay at St Mary's is going to be a brief one.
That is partly down to the new Saints boss's desire to target a new attacking right-back and with Cedric Soares already at the club it looks as though it will be the end for Martina, after he made 18 appearances for the club and scored one goal in the process.
The report also adds that Cedric is a player that Puel will look to keep at the club, especially after he impressed for Portugal during their successful Euro 2016 campaign.
The next week or so is expected to see some increased transfer activity at the Saints as Puel looks to put his own stamp on the squad.
It was always going to be difficult for Martina to stay around at the club and compete for first-team football this season once it became clear the new manager was after a new full-back. Unfortunately, he does not seem to fit the bill for the new Southampton boss.
