B. Riley & Co, a leading full service investment bank and a wholly-owned subsidiary of B. Riley Financial, Inc have announced that John Calcagnini and Keith M. Sipes have joined the Investment Banking team as Managing Directors.

Calcagnini will focus on Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, and Medical Devices, while Sipes will concentrate on the Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) sectors.

"John and Keith are two experienced and well-respected bankers with deep domain expertise. They bring to our investment banking group strong client relationships and long and impressive track records of providing thoughtful and value-added advice to their clients. We're excited to have John and Keith join the B. Riley platform, further strengthening our industry depth within the Healthcare and TMT sectors," said Ryan Bernath, Senior Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking.

Calcagnini brings 25 years of experience in healthcare and life sciences investment banking. He has advised on over $10bn in financings and M&A advisory assignments for small and middle market life sciences companies. Most recently, Calcagnini built and led the healthcare investment banking practice as a Managing Director at Sterne Agee CRT and previously led the medical device investment banking practice at CIBC World Markets/Oppenheimer & Co, where his group was one of the top equity underwriters in the healthcare sector. He has a B.S. in Economics from State University of New York, Oneonta.

Sipes brings 17 years of experience originating and executing strategic advisory and corporate financial services for a broad universe of technology, media, and telecom companies. Sipes was Managing Director at Sterne Agee CRT in his most recent role, and has also worked for Duff & Phelps, Stifel Financial, Merrill Lynch and Lazard Frères & Co. He has represented more than $75bn in advisory and $20bn in corporate finance assignments. Keith graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. in English and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

"Expanding our investment banking business is a critical part of our growth plan at B. Riley Financial. The hiring of John and Keith is consistent with that plan and I'm pleased that John and Keith have chosen to continue their careers on our platform, leveraging for their clients the full suite of services we have developed," remarked Bryant Riley, Chairman and CEO of B. Riley Financial.

"Having had the opportunity to get to know the B. Riley team over the years, I was familiar with and liked their style and their format of creating a broad financial services offering. There are tremendous growth opportunities in the healthcare space and I'm looking forward to helping to expand B. Riley's investment banking capabilities within the sector," explained John Calcagnini.

"It felt like a great fit from our first conversation," said Keith Sipes. "B. Riley's focus on long-term client relationships and independent, thoughtful advisory services across all product areas align perfectly with my efforts within the TMT space."

Both Calcagnini and Sipes will work from B. Riley's Los Angeles location.
