Everton are also keen on bringing in Leicester City’s Steve Walsh.

According to The Sun, Everton will line up a deal for former Manchester United man Jordi Cruyff as director of football should they fail in their attempts to land Leicester City’s Steve Walsh.

The report claims that Walsh is the club’s first choice option to work alongside newly-appointed boss Ronald Koeman, yet Cruyff is waiting in the wings and contact has already been made over a potential switch.

Leicester City’s immense Premier League success last term has not only drawn plenty of interest in their star players, but also those responsible for their incredible transfer dealings.

Walsh was in charge of operations for the additions of players such as N’Golo Kante, a player who arrived at Leicester as an unknown quantity and left for Chelsea 12 months later in a big-money switch.

Everton have produced a number of quality players in recent years, yet there have been questions made over their signings and the club are seemingly keen to improve that aspect.

Cruyff is currently the director of football at Isreali side Maccabi Tel Aviv, helping them become a force once more and a side which qualified for last season’s Champions League against the odds.

The 42-year-old has plenty of experience playing top-level football, while his father Johan Cruyff will have passed on a number of traits having held advisory roles at several clubs including Ajax and Barcelona.

The Toffees thus far have been relatively quiet in the transfer market, despite wealthy owner Farhad Moshiri willing to heavily back his new manager and sanction big-money deals.
