Marseille winger Georges-Kevin, reportedly expected to join Tottenham Hotpsur this week according to the Guardian, has been voted into a list of Europe's best players from 2015/16 on the Uefa website, as voted by journalists across Uefa's 55 member states.

Nkoudou had a superb season at the Stade Velodrome last year, after arriving from Nantes last summer, scoring 10 times and assisting five goals. With the journalists voting their top five players, the youngster was selected as joint 30th from 37 nominees.

Though many Spurs fans will be unaware of the French Under-21 player's achievements and reputation, they can certainly take a lot of comfort from the fact he is not only one of the youngest players on the Uefa list, but is also in pretty esteemed company.

Only Portugal starlet and new Bayern Munich signing Renato Sanches is younger than 21-year-old Nkoudou from the 50 players selected, while voted level with Nkoudou is the likes of Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne and Borussia Dortmund hotshot Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And considering some of the players that are not on the list, such as celebrated Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, and it should offer even more encouragement to supporters.

However, checking further down the list does throw up one curveball in particular, with Wigan and Northern Ireland favourite Will Grigg ahead of Nkoudou and level with France and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

But while Grigg's nomination may owe a little to the chant-related infamy that spread throughout Europe this summer, apparently even journalists have a sense of humour, there can be no explanation for Nkoudou's appearance other than his huge potential.
