Recent Hammers arrival Sofaine Feghouli has been speaking to the West Ham website about what convinced him to move to East London, and it should be exciting reading for Irons fans.

Having impressed in La Liga over the last six years, Feghouli is now set to experience the Premier League as part of Slaven Bilic's entertaining side.

And it is the Hammer's ambition, fuelled for the first time by support from their new Olympic Stadium home, that drew him to the Irons.

“The Club is incredibly ambitious, and that was my main reason for coming here," Feghouli told

“I think that with the team that we have got, the players that will be brought in during the transfer window, combined with our fans, then we can go on to achieve some great things together.

“The stadium is magnificent and all the players are excited to play there for the first time in front of so many of our fantastic supporters."

The Algerian is arguably the Hammers' most exciting signing of the summer so far, having signed on a free transfer from Valencia.

He had a couple of mixed spells at the Mestalla in recent seasons, but still went on to score five times in 33 games last season.

Feghouli joined early in the offseason, giving him plenty of time to relocate to London and crucially, spend the maximum time in preseason and on the club's recent tour of the US.

It was a tactic that hugely benefitted another classy attacking midfielder last year, with Dimitri Payet also arriving early in the summer transfer window, and going on to take to the Premier League with style and with ease.
