Wissam Ben Yedder in action for Toulouse
Whilst the Hammers have snapped up midfielder Havard Nordtveit as well as wingers Sofiane Feghouli and Gokhan Tore, it's been no secret that a new first-choice striker has been top of Slaven Bilic's wish list.
Manchester United youngster Ashley Fletcher has been snapped up, but he's one for the future, and a host of big name strikers have been linked with moves to the Olympic Stadium this summer.
In fact, Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport report that AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has rejected West Ham after weeks of speculation, leaving Bilic's men to look elsewhere for a new goalscorer.
Now, Get French Football News report that the Hammers have made a new approach to sign Toulouse forward Wissam Ben Yedder, who has starred in France over the last four seasons.
Ben Yedder, 25, is a former futsal and amateur player who has risen to stardom with Toulouse, hitting 17 league goals last season to add to a superb 45 goals in the previous three campaigns.
The Frenchman has recently seen a move to Sevilla fall through, and it's claimed that West Ham have now submitted a new move for the player as they look to move on from Bacca's snub.
A diminutive, skillful forward, Ben Yedder is massively underrated and could be a shrewd move for West Ham after missing out on Colombian star Bacca - and with Toulouse allegedly expecting a decision on Ben Yedder's future in ten days, West Ham could land the striker in plenty of time for the start of the season.
