Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka before the match
Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has been very active in the transfer market so far this summer, and with plenty of time left until the start of the season, and even longer until the end of the transfer window, who knows how many more players are set to come in.
The club have already signed five players, while there are a few more said to be on the cusp of joining, report the Gazette. It could leave Boro in a very strong position heading into the new season, and below is a possible eleven heading into the new campaign.
Undoubtedly, the big news on Teeside is the incoming Spanish contingent, with former Barcelona and Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes one of the the highest profile signings the club has ever made. Antonio Barragan has also joined from Valencia, while the deals for former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo and Uruguayan playmaker Gaston Ramirez are also set to be completed in the near future. Borussia Dortmund centre back Neven Subotic is also strongly linked to the Riverside, another fantastic signing if it was to come off.
Alongside fellow new arrivals Viktor Fischer, Marten de Roon and Bernardo Espinosa and Middlesbrough's playoff winning squad are looking an impressive Premier League team and squad as they return to the top flight for the first time in seven years.
