Glasgow Rangers manager Mark Warburton has said at his press conference that he simply cannot afford to have players at Ibrox that he has any doubts about.

Rangers have brought in eight new signings this summer, but Warburton is convinced that every single one of his new recruits will be a success.

The former Brentford boss admits that he is taken a no risk approach to recruiting players this summer, as Rangers look to adapt to being back in Scotland’s top flight.

Rangers have slightly adapted their transfer policy from last season, with more experienced being added.

Rangers got promoted with a group largely made up of up-and coming talents, but they have been far more willing to bring in ageing players this summer.

The likes of Joey Barton, Clint Hill and Niko Kranjcar have all been snapped up by Rangers, alongside some of the Football League’s more promising talents.

Rangers won their first competitive match of the season 2-0 against Motherwell last weekend. The Light Blues are in action again tomorrow evening, against Annan Athletic.
