Jesus Gamez has reacted on Twitter, after playing for Newcastle United for the first time.
Newcastle took on Bohemians in a friendly last week, and they ran out 6-0 victors.
Gamez came on in the latter stages of the match, replacing Jamaal Lascelles in the heart of the Magpies’ defence.
The Spanish defender was not tested too much in the match, but the 31-year-old is looking forward to getting back to training this week.
Newcastle’s squad have been on tour of Ireland, but they are due to return to the North East this week.
Newcastle have a friendly against Doncaster Rovers to play in midweek, before they jet off to Belgium to play a match against KSC Lokeren.
Newcastle are gearing up for next campaign, when they will be the favourites to win the Championship.
Newcastle’s competitive campaign gets underway on August 5th, with a match against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
