Former Middlesbrough striker Mido has stated he is impressed with the club's transfer activity upon their return to the Premier League.

Middlesbrough have signed Victor Valdes and Maarten de Roon, and are pursuing deals for Alvaro Negredo, Adnan Januzaj and Neven Subotic among others.

Commenting on Twitter, Mido said he believes the club is setting itself up for success this coming campaign.


Middlesbrough won promotion back to the top flight last season after finishing second in the Championship, having fallen in the play-offs the previous year.

They spent big to secure their spot, buying Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn Rovers mid-season, and are evidently determined not to simply fall straight back down.
