Brendan Rodgers has made just one signing since taking charge at Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that he wants to bring in players at Celtic in the coming weeks.
Rodgers has been fairly quiet in the transfer window so far since moving to Parkhead, with Moussa Dembele his only signing.
The striker has penned a deal at Celtic from Fulham, but the lack of arrivals who have followed him to Glasgow has caused some frustration.
Celtic were expected to invest heavily after Rodgers was appointed, but most their attempts to sign players have proven unsuccessful.
Rodgers, however, insists that the Bhoys are not behind in their planning for the new campaign as his first priority was always to assess the players that were already at Parkhead.
BR on strengthening team: "There are areas I’m looking at within the squad but my first job was to come in and respect the players here."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) July 16, 2016
BR: "I want to bring in additions, with more speed, but the players here are working hard and well."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) July 16, 2016
The gaps in Celtic’s squad have already been horribly exposed in Champions League qualification.
Celtic lost in Rodgers’ first competitive match in charge to part-timers Lincoln Red Imps.
The Bhoys face the second leg of that fixture on Wednesday, and failure to make it into Europe’s premier competition could have some impact on the budget that Rodgers has to spend on his planned additions.
