Christian Benteke's Liverpool future is the subject of intense speculation, with reports linking the Belgian with a move away from Anfield. The Mirror even went so far as to say he had agreed terms with Crystal Palace, but the Eagles have balked at his £32 million valuation.
Benteke's days at Anfield look to be numbered, with the club seemingly willing to listen to offers, and the powerful hitman would be a fantastic signing for Leicester. With the Foxes' Champions League participation and increased revenues from the new Premier League TV deal, they will now be able to compete financially with some of Europe's biggest clubs.
The need for manager Claudio Ranieri to bring in quality additions to the King Power Stadium is one of high importance. Not only will it improve their squad as a whole, but it could also influence the current Leicester players who could leave throughout the summer to instead stay at the club.
The Midlands club need to prove their ambitions in the transfer market, and after losing N'Golo Kante to Chelsea it is vitally important they make a statement of intent for the rest of the league to see.
Benteke would be ideal for Leicester. He could play alongside Jamie Vardy in a 4-4-2, and his strength and physical prowess could be the perfect compliment to Vardy's direct runs in behind defences. The Belgian would also provide the Foxes with an aerial threat that they currently do not possess.
The 25-year-old also has the ability to drop deep and receive the ball to feet which makes him a terrific link between midfield and attack.
The former Aston Villa forward needs a spark in his career, and if a move to Leicester came to fruition it would give him exactly that, and in return he could form a partnership with Vardy that could once again fire the Foxes to the Premier League title.
