Dundee striker Yordi Teijsse has told The Dundee Evening Telegraph that Vincent Janssen will prove to be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
The 22-year-old striker has signed a contract with Spurs until 2020 for a transfer fee reported by The Mirror to be worth £17 million.
Teijsse, who is 23 years of age, has backed his Dutch compatriot to be a success at White Hart Lane.
The Dundee striker has also said that the 22-year-old Netherlands international’s move to Tottenham from his old club Almere City via AZ is inspirational.
“His rise shows just how quickly things can change in football,” Teijsse told The Dundee Evening Telegraph about Janssen. “He was with my old team just one year ago and now he is in England.
“Things have changed very quickly for me, too. It shows you what can be done when you do well in Dutch football.”
“He will be a big success down there, I am sure,” added Teijsse. “He is very good. Looking at his story, it is hard not to take inspiration.”
Janssen is a talented young striker, and he has arrived at Tottenham with a strong reputation.
The Netherlands international scored 27 goals and created 56 chances in 34 Eredivisie matches for AZ during the 2015-16 season.
The 22-year-old had a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 55%, and won 21 headers, 35 dribbles and 21 tackles.
Tottenham finished third in the Premier League last season and will feature in the group stage of the Champions League during the 2016-17 campaign.
