Gomez has suffered yet another injury and will miss the start of the 2016-17 season, as reported by The Liverpool Echo.
The 19-year-old was close to returning to full training after nine months out due to surgery on a ruptured cruciate ligament.

Gomez featured in five Premier League matches for Liverpool last season, creating three chances in the process.
The England Under-21 international defender had a pass accuracy of 79%, and won nine headers, two dribbles and 10 tackles.
The youngster is a talented defender, and Liverpool fans should hope that he returns to competitive action soon.
Liverpool have started pre-season training already, as they prepare for the 2016-17 campaign. The Reds will start the season aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table.
