Icardi has been heavily linked with an exit this summer, with Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal both said to be keen on signing the talented forward ahead of the new season.
However, Thohir has remarked on the situation, telling reporters how Inter see their captain as vital for the challenge ahead and under now circumstances are they considering losing him this summer.
“There has been a lot of talk about Mauro Icardi, I want to confirm what Piero Ausilio said: Mauro is one of Inter's treasures, he's our captain and for us he's off the market,” he told Gianluca Di Marzio.
“I have read a lot of things written in Italy about Mancini, we talked in recent days, I will meet with him in the United States, but I want to reiterate what I always thought and said: he's our difference maker.”
It appears if Arsenal or Spurs want to sign the Argentine this summer, then they will have to break their respective transfer records in order to prise him away from the Italian giants.
