West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has written on the club’s official website that the club are doing their best to sign players in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers have been quite busy so far and have already recruited a number of players.

Sofiane Feghouli, Toni Martinez, Havard Nordtveit, Domingos Quina and Ashley Fletcher have all joined the London outfit on permanent contracts, while Gokhan Tore has signed on loan from Besiktas.

Gold has assured the West Ham fans that co-chairman David Sullivan is doing his best to sign players this summer.

“I can assure all our supporters that we are still working hard behind the scenes to bring new players into the squad and have many irons in the fire,” Gold wrote on West Ham’s official website.

“There is still a long way to go before the transfer window closes. David Sullivan is working relentlessly to push these players over the line and nobody is better than him at getting the best possible deals.”

West Ham will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Premier League next season.

The Hammers enjoyed a successful 2015-16 season, and manager Slaven Bilic will want his team to fare even better during the 2016-17 campaign.

The London outfit have a number of good players in their squad, such as Dimitri Payet, Adrian, Mark Noble and Michail Antonio.

What West Ham need to sign this summer is a proven goalscorer who will find the net 20 times or more in the Premier League.
