Arsenal have started pre-season training ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.
Wilshere joined his Arsenal teammates for pre-season training on Friday. The 24-year-old midfielder was on holiday for the past few days following England’s disappointing 2016 European Championship campaign in France this summer.
The Englishman has taken to Twitter to express his delight at reporting for pre-season duty at Arsenal, with the North London outfit’s fans responding to his message on the social networking site.
@JackWilshere hey jack I'm your big fan but I think you should improve more and try staying fit for a while— Nyeweli (@Nyeweli1) July 15, 2016
Wilshere is a very talented midfielder, but his main problem in recent years has been his failure to remain fit for a prolonged period of time.
The midfielder will hope to have a good pre-season with the Gunners and establish himself in manager Arsene Wenger’s starting lineup.
The 24-year-old featured in three matches for England at the 2016 European Championship in France.
Wilshere created three chances, had a pass accuracy of 80%, and won five dribbles and two tackles.
The midfielder made three appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal last season, while during the 2014-15 campaign, he played in 14 league matches for Wenger’s side.
