Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic in action with Tottenham's Erik Lamela
Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela has suggested to the club’s official website that he will be fully ready for next season in a week’s time.
Lamela recently reported for pre-season training at Hotspur Way, having been on international duty with Argentina earlier this summer.
The 24-year-old, who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, helped Argentina reach the final of the Copa America Centenario in the USA.
The former River Plate and AS Roma star is back from his holiday, and he is eager to start the 2016-17 campaign.
Lamela has admitted that he is not fully ready yet, but he is confident that he will be so in a week’s time.

“I am happy to be here again, happy to see my team-mates and I am ready to work,” Lamela told Tottenham’s official website. “I really like to work hard and this team likes to do the same.
“In the beginning it’s a little bit hard because I stopped for the holidays but it’s normal. I think in one week I will be ready but for now I will keep working step by step.”
