According to reports from L’Equipe, the Premier League duo of Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough are involved in a head to head battle to secure the services of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Yakou Méïte.

Both Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough have shown a lot of ambition in the transfer market so far this summer and the duo look very well equipped to stave off relegation during the upcoming Premier League campaign.

With nearly a month left to go before the start of the season, one can fully expect both Palace and Middlesbrough to bring in a few more players to their respective sides within the next few weeks.

Now according to reports emerging out of France, Palace and Boro are currently involved in a head to head battle to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster Yakou Méïte.

Méïte is an extremely talented young player who has been starring for the PSG youth team over the past few years and he even managed to earn an appearance for the first team at the tail end of last season.

However, the fierce level of competition at PSG means that Méïte looks unlikely to earn regular first team football at the Parc des Princes anytime soon and as a result, the 20-year-old is expected to leave the French giants this summer – especially after entering the final year of his contract at the club.

Méïte’s situation has alerted a number of clubs and L’Equipe claim that Palace and Middlesbrough are both keen on signing the 20-year-old.
