New Saints signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has praised the set-up at Southampton
Manchester City's Frank Lampard in action with Bayern Munich's Pierre Hojbjerg
The 20 year old Danish international Hojbjerg completed his move from Bayern Munich earlier this week for a reported fee of £12.8 million.
The young midfielder has signed a five year deal with the Saints, and he leaves Munich after spending four years with the club.
Hojbjerg made 17 league appearances during his time at Bayern
During that time he managed just 17 league appearances, whilst spending time on loan at FC Augsburg, and last season, at Schalke 04.
And after his first few days training with his new club, Hojbjerg is pleased with the training methods of new manager Claude Puel's coaching staff at Southampton.
Hojbjerg is pleased with the set-up at Southampton
“I really like it," he told the club's official website.
"They understand the football that I like and they want to practice the football that I like to play."
“That’s really good for me. They are really good people. I’m happy to be around all of the players and the coaching staff."
Influential: Claude Puel
Hojbjerg has already expressed to the club's website the importance of Puel in influencing his decision to join Southampton, praising the French manager for his philosophy and focus on a specific style of play.
And after spending time working with his new teammates and coaching staff, it appears the club are living up to his expectations.
