Hibernian are confident of securing a loan deal for Aberdeen midfielder Peter Pawlett, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
New Hibs boss Neil Lennon has identified Pawlett as one of his top targets after taking over at Easter Road as he looks to build a side capable of winning promotion back to the Scottish Premiership with the club missing out on promotion in the last two seasons.

Former Celtic chief Lennon is a long-term admirer of Pawlett having tried to sign the winger when he was in charge of Bolton Wanderers.
Pawlett endured an injury-ravaged season last term, scoring two goals in 26 appearances for the Dons as they finished second in the Scottish Premiership.

The 25-year-old was an unused substitute for Aberdeen's Europa League qualifying win over Ventspils and the recent arrival of Wes Burns on loan from Bristol City could push him down the pecking order at Pittodrie.
Aberdeen are reluctant to let Pawlett leave the club, but it is understood that the former Scotland Under-21 international is interested in a move to Hibs in search of regular first-team football.
