Erik Lamela has shared his thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur's summer business so far, in an interview with the club’s official website.

The Lilywhites have secured the services of midfield powerhouse Victor Wanyama and Dutch poacher Vincent Janssen, addressing the biggest gaps in the squad, and Lamela is happy to have them on board.

“I’ve seen them and I said ‘welcome to the Club! They are ready to work, they are motivated to be here and I wish them all the best,” the Argentine told Tottenham's official website.

“I think they will be very important because we have a very good team and with them we will be better. I will help them in everything if they need me.”

The 24-year old enjoyed his best season yet for Spurs last term and after struggling to adapt to life in England, Lamela has now become a crucial figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham team.

He carried his league form into the Copa America this summer, playing an important role as Argentina reached the final and ultimately lost out to Chile in a penalty shootout.

Spurs fans will be hoping for more of the same next season from the hard-working midfielder and he will need to replicate his efforts if he is to maintain his current standing.

Numerous reports – by the likes of the Daily Mail – have suggested that Pochettino is aiming to make a pacey, attacking midfielder his final recruit this summer, which could mean Lamela has his work cut out to remain in the starting XI.
